Ricardo C. Carvalho

Ricardo C. Carvalho is Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Latin American Company (LatinCo), 20 years’ premier Atlanta-based business development consultancy serving a range of Latin American and U.S. clients.

With 30 years' experience in international business development and marketing, Ricardo has established himself as expert at developing opportunities for dynamic partnerships and alliances in pursuit of targeted strategic and financial objectives.

Under his leadership, the Latin American Company has become one of Americas’ most highly regarded Latin and American consulting resources since its founding in 1988, with a client base that includes some of the most respected companies in the world.

Prior to founding LatinCo, Ricardo was a marketing executive with The Coca-Cola Company, where he played a leading role in shaping the company's Latin American market positioning. His early experience at Coca-Cola included sales, marketing, advertising and operations at the bottling plant level in his native country Brazil and then as manager of Coke's corporate marketing activities for Brazilian bottlers.

Later, in directing Coca-Cola USA's Hispanic marketing programs and eventually the company's entire market development activities for Latin America, Ricardo played a key role in establishing and maintaining the company's brand leadership on both continents.

Leveraging that experience, along with a strong work ethic and commitment to human capital as the primary driver of competitive excellence in the international marketing arena, Ricardo continues to build and enhance LatinCo's capabilities as an unparalleled resource for business development in the Americas.

Ricardo holds a law degree from the University of Vila Velha in Brazil, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, and is a fellow of the prestigious Strategic Coach (TSC) program for successful entrepreneurs. He is fluent in Portuguese, his native language, Spanish, and English.

Ricardo is co-founder of, and serves on the Board of Directors of Envictus Corporation, an Internet based education company situated in the District of Columbia; and is chairman of the board of Auto-O-Matik of Brazil. He also serves on the Board of the Rockdale Foundation, and Board of Worthwhile Ventures dedicated to micro credit programs worldwide. A Tri-athlete, he is also a volunteer with the Brazilian Olympic Committee, for which he served as an Ambassador during the 1996 Games.



José C. Carvalho

José C. Carvalho is Executive Vice-President and member of the Advisory Board of the Latin American Company®.

In the 1980's Mr. Carvalho was President and CEO of J.C. Consulting Ltd., an operations management-consulting firm dedicated to numerous Brazilian enterprises, including Coca Cola, The Coffin Group (A Coke Bottler), The Brazilian Industries Associates, VIPART, C.I.E.C., and COROA Beverages. He also lead the development of the strategic plans and campaign execution for the election and re-election of Senator Dr. Jones Santos Neves, a constituent to Brazil's National Congress.

As President, and Board of Director, of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Vitória, Espirito Santo state, he pioneered the bottling and marketing of Coca-Cola, and its line of products into this important Brazilian state (pop. of 4 million people). He built this operation to a 500-employee enterprise, 10,000 customers, and increased sales revenue from US$450K in 1966 to US$10MM in 1982. At present, this Coke franchise sells over 20 million unit cases.

As a Sales Manager of the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he was responsible for a territory of 4.100 customers, and sales of de 1.2 million unit cases. He also held numerous positions including promotions manager, sales supervisor, and salesman.

Mr. José C. Carvalho is a graduate in Business Administration from The Salesianos College, in Rio de Janeiro, and in addition to his native Portuguese, he is fluent in Spanish. He serves as Director on Board of several Brazilian Companies, including the State’s Industry Association.
